Tender opened for expertise on developing transnational spatial vision on North Sea-Baltic corridor

VASAB secretariat has opened a public tender for qualified expertise on developing joint transnational spatial vision on regional development, logistics and mobility of the North Sea-Baltic corridor. The vision will be developed within the framework of INTERREG VB project “North Sea-Baltic connector of regions” (NSB CoRe). Applicants should submit their tenders by 9th of September, 2016.

The objective of the spatial vision is to identify and avert existing or possible discrepancies in national, regional or local spatial plans among countries of the corridor. It should seek to improve the North Sea-Baltic corridor connections with the second level transport networks, as well as to evaluate impact of the corridor on regional development processes in the territory of the corridor.

The task of the contractor includes the analyses of the current situation, assessment of needs and elaboration of solutions and recommendations. In order to develop the joint vision, the relevant stakeholders should be identified and included by conducting interviews and surveys and organising workshops. The task should be accomplished by December 2018.

NSB CoRe project covers 8 countries of the Baltic Sea region and it aims to improve the sustainable accessibility of the Eastern Baltic Sea Region to freight and passenger transport. Project activities consist of logistics, long distance commuter services, transnational community building and transport branding.

VASAB secretariat is one of the 16 project partners and responsible for the developing of transnational spatial vision on NSB CoRe corridor, as well as carrying out several case studies within the project.
