Copenhagen, Denmark EUSBSR Live Meeting
On 14 and 15 April 2026, we are celebrating the community of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) at the EUSBSR Live Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Live Meeting brings together Policy Area Coordinators, National Coordinators, and Steering Group members for two days of interactive workshops and discussions.

The Live Meeting provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation, exchange experiences, and advance the implementation of the updated Action Plan. Through a structured programme of workshops, participants are working to identify synergies between Policy Areas, improve engagement with external stakeholders, and reinforce the role of Steering Groups in ensuring effective policy uptake.
Mārtiņš Ulāns, Head of VASAB Secretariat had an opportunity to present our ongoing work on identifying synergies between VASAB Vision 2040 and EUSBSR Policy Areas. By mapping projects and stakeholders with shared objectives, VASAB showed how interlinked the different EUSBSR Policy Areas are. Cross-sectoral cooperation is essential for implementation of VASAB Vision 2040, so the identification is just the beginning of a future cooperation process between VASAB and EUSBSR. It was also proved that VASAB Vision 2040 can act like more than one Policy Area’s background document.
Overall, the EUSBSR Live Meeting highlights the importance of continuous dialogue in advancing shared macro-regional goals. By bringing together key actors from across the Baltic Sea Region, the event reinforces a collective commitment to effective implementation, strategic advocacy, and impactful cooperation.
