Forums and Networks
VASAB facilitates several forums and networks that strengthen spatial planning cooperation across the Baltic Sea Region:
- MSP Planners’ Forum is a practitioner-oriented platform supporting the implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) through hands-on exchange among national-level planners and government experts.
- Land-based Planners’ Forum, launched in February 2026, is a new and evolving platform that is still being developed to build capacity and resilience among spatial planners at local, regional, and national levels. It promotes multi-level dialogue and alignment with EU and macro-regional strategies while establishing a structured cooperation network for land-based planning.
- Baltic MSP Forum is a regional conference held every 2–3 years that gathers policymakers, planners, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss strategic developments in maritime and coastal planning, collectively enhancing knowledge-sharing and cross-border cooperation in the region.
