The 4 th Baltic Maritime Spatial Planning Forum took place on 1 – 2 June 2021, online and was broadcast from Latvia. The Forum was organised within two Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects - Capacity4MSP and Land-Sea-Act, and served as a final conference for both projects. We thank all participants who were part of the largest MSP related event in the Baltic Sea Region.

On 22 April 2021 the VASAB Committee on Spatial Planning and Development for the Baltic Sea Region agreed on the Methodology for the update of VASAB Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region, elaborated by experts from Spatial Foresight GmbH and Nordregio. The Methodology describes intended update process, overall approach and tasks, stakeholder involvement and communication.

Registration for the 4th Baltic MSP Forum is open. The Forum will take place on 1-2 June 2021 online. The Forum is organised by two Interreg BSR projects Capacity4MSP and Land-Sea-Act and it serves as a final conference for both projects.

On 25 March 2021 a workshop dedicated to the BASEMAPS data portal were held during the 15th Baltic Sea Region Maritme Spatial Planning Data Expert Sub-group (BSR MSP Data ESG). A previous workshop on Basemaps was held on 16 September 2020. The participants highlighted the need to repeat the exercise, if possible before each Meeting of the BSR MSP Data ESG.

3rd Planners’ Forum within the project platform Capacity4MSP took place on 17 March 2021 online. As always meeting started with the exchange of the most pressing issues from each Baltic Sea Region’s country regarding maritime spatial planning (MSP) that was continued with broader discussions on the topics from agenda.

The Roundtable "Maritime Spatial Planning" was held within the framework of the XXI International Forum "Baltic Sea Day" on March 23, 2021 in St. Petersburg and online. The roundtable was organized by the Scientific and Research Institute of Maritime Spatial Planning Ermak NorthWest (Russia), SC Mineral (Russia) and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (Sweden).
