To bring together practitioners to discuss and exchange about concrete examples and recommendations on how to apply Maritime Spatial Planning & To assess the state-of-the-art implementation of MSP and discuss challenges and opportunities to achieve the MSProadmap priority areas and target (cover at least 1/3 of the global maritime areas under national jurisdictions with marine spatial plans by 2030).

VASAB  Committee on Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region (CSPD/BSR) is continuing to update its Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region and has prepared draft VASAB Vision 2040.

In the very end of August 2022 twenty participants, students and practitioners, from the Baltic Sea Region gathered for the Young Planners’ Summer School in Greifswald, Germany - five international and interdisciplinary teams developed ideas on the Sustainable Futures for the Baltic Sea Region by 2040.

How would a desired Baltic Sea Region look like in future? How different policies, having implications to our territories and the sea, will play out - will they effectively address the challenges we might expect in the future or are there places where additional joint actions and synergies may help?…
