Denmark takes over VASAB Chairmanship

The VASAB Committee on Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region (VASAB CSPD/BSR) is chaired by Denmark from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. Denmark holds the chairmanship of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) during the same period.

In the light of the reform process in CBSS, the Danish chairmanship of VASAB CSPD/BSR will generally prioritise focus and efficiency in the work of VASAB and address exchange of knowledge and best practises on concrete challenges related to common spatial planning issues.

Ms Gitte Mondrup, Special Adviser of the Danish Business Authority which is part of the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, will chair the VASAB CSPD/BSR meetings assisted by Mrs Berit Ipsen Hansen, Special Adviser of the Danish Business Authority. Ms Gitte Mondrup has a Master’s Degree in Political Science and has served as the Danish member of VASAB CSPD/BSR during the previous Presidency 2018-2019.

Denmark has taken over the chairmanship from Latvia. The next chairing country after Denmark will be Lithuania from 2020-2021.
