About event
VASAB Stakeholder Workshop on the application of the draft VASAB Vision 2040
German VASAB chairmanship is inviting to save the date on 16th May 2022 for the online VASAB stakeholder workshop in the course of the update of the VASAB Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region.
A first common Baltic Sea Region vision was drafted and agreed by the 3rd Conference of Ministers for Spatial Planning and Development in 1994, which was further translated into the VASAB Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region and agreed by the 7th Conference of Ministers for Spatial Planning and Development in 2009.
Now over a decade after the last major update, under the slogan “Bridging the old with the new” VASAB Long-Term Perspective is being updated to address the current and future challenges facing the Baltic Sea Region by 2040 and beyond. After updating VASAB Long Term Perspective, draft VASAB Vision 2040 has been elaborated and given to the Stakeholder consultations that will take place till mid-July 2022. For further information on the draft Vision 2040 process and all related documents, please, see here.
VASAB Stakeholder workshop will share the prospects of the draft VASAB Vision 2040 and discuss the views on what implications the updated VASAB Vision may have on the ground and how to make it reality.
The workshop was organized by the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building of Germany which is chairing the VASAB Committee for Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region in 2022/23.
